Creating a Content Export Report

Content Export reports provide detailed content and data from user activities in Mo, including the full text of Moments, reward details, nomination submissions, and user information.

What Is a Content Export Report

Content Export reports extract detailed content and data from Mo activities, unlike Activity Detail reports which only show quantitative metrics.

What Content Export reports include:

✅ Full text and descriptions

✅ Detailed user information

✅ Reward values and amounts

✅ Complete submission content

✅ Timestamps and metadata

✅ Associated values and tags

Difference from Activity Detail Reports

Activity Detail Reports:

  • Show quantities (how many)

  • Track counts and trends

  • No detailed content

Example: "50 Moments were created in October"

Content Export Reports:

  • Show detailed content (what was said)

  • Include full text and values

  • Complete information

Example: Full text of all 50 Moments, who created them, who was tagged, which values were selected, and complete content

Use Cases

  • Analyse content quality: Review what colleagues are writing in recognition posts.

  • Track reward spending: See exact reward amounts, types, and budget utilisation.

  • Evaluate nominations: Read all nomination submissions for judging purposes.

  • Export user data: Extract complete user information for reporting or migrations.

  • Compliance and auditing: Maintain records of recognition, rewards, and activities.

  • Content analysis: Identify common themes, language, and recognition patterns.

⚠️ Note: You need Analyst permission to

create and download Content Export reports.


Accessing Reports

Navigate to the Reports section:

  1. Click Manage Organisation in the navigation

  2. Select

  3. Click Report Generator under Analytics and Insights

  4. Click on the Create Report button on the top right hand side of the page.

Viewing Previous Reports

To access a previously created reports:

  1. Go to Manage Organisation > Report Generator

  2. Find the report from your list

  3. Click Request Download


Creating a Content Export Report

Step 1: Select Report Type

  1. On the Create Report page, locate Report Type

  2. Select Content Export from the dropdown

This report type provides detailed content rather than just activity counts.

Step 2: Name Your Report

Choose a clear, descriptive name that identifies the content type and time period.

Naming best practice

Include key details:

  • Content type being exported

  • Time period covered

  • Specific purpose (if applicable)

  • Establish naming conventions for easy identification.

Examples of good report names:

  • "Moment Content (October 2025)"

  • "Rewards Issued Q4 2025"

Step 3: Select Content Type

Choose which type of content you want to export.

Available content types: (Availability depends on your Mo configuration and enabled features)

Users

Exports complete account information for all users in Mo.

What this export includes:

  • User names

  • Email addresses

  • Department/team information

  • Job titles

  • Office locations

  • User status (active/inactive)

  • Account creation dates

  • Custom profile fields

  • Group memberships

When to use:

✅ Demographic analysis

Example use case: Export all user data at year-end for annual HR reporting and to verify department assignments are current.

Moments

Exports all Moments (posts) content created on the platform.

What this export includes:

  • Moment text/content

  • Author name

  • Creation date and time

  • Who was tagged/mentioned

  • Company values selected

  • Public or private status

  • Reactions and comment counts

  • Attachments (filenames)

When to use:

✅ Content analysis

✅ Recognition quality review

✅ Identifying recognition themes

✅ Compliance and record-keeping

✅ Measuring values alignment

✅ Spotting inappropriate content

Example use case: Export October's Moments to analyse which company values are most frequently recognised and identify recognition themes for leadership presentation.

Rewards

Exports all rewards issued on the platform.

What this export includes:

  • Reward giver name

  • Reward recipient name

  • Reward date

  • Reward amount/value

  • Reward type (monetary, voucher, etc.)

  • Spending pot used

  • Reward message/reason

  • Associated Moment (if applicable)

When to use:

✅ Budget tracking and reporting

✅ Reward programme analysis

✅ Financial reconciliation

✅ Manager reward activity

✅ Department spending comparison

✅ ROI calculations

Example use case: Export Q4 rewards to calculate total spending by department, verify budget utilisation, and prepare financial reports for leadership.

Nominations

Exports all nomination submission content.

What this export includes:

  • Nominator name

  • Nominee name

  • Nomination text/reason

  • Submission date

  • Nomination category

  • Associated values

  • Winner status (if announced)

When to use:

✅ Winner selection process

✅ Analysing nomination themes

✅ Record-keeping for awards

✅ Evaluating nomination quality

✅ Compliance documentation

Example use case: Export all nominations for "Employee of the Year" award to enable judging panel to review submissions offline and make winner selections.

Ideas

Exports all ideas submitted through the Ideas feature.

What this export includes:

  • Idea submitter name

  • Idea title

  • Complete idea description

  • Submission date

  • Idea status (under review, implemented, etc.)

  • Category/theme

  • Votes or reactions

  • Comments

When to use:

✅ Idea evaluation and prioritisation

✅ Trend analysis

✅ Reporting on idea implementation

✅ Measuring innovation engagement

✅ Identifying recurring themes

Example use case: Export all ideas submitted during innovation campaign to identify top suggestions, analyse common themes, and report on idea quality to executives.

Redemptions

Exports all redemption instances from the Mo store.

What this export includes:

  • User who redeemed

  • Redemption date

  • Item redeemed

  • Points/value used

  • Redemption status

  • Delivery information (if applicable)

When to use:

Example use case: Export December redemptions to analyse year-end store activity, identify most popular items, and plan inventory for next year.

Spending Pots

Exports the status of all spending pots in Mo.

What this export includes:

  • Spending pot name

  • Pot owner/manager

  • Total budget allocated

  • Amount spent to date

  • Amount remaining

  • Spending cycle dates

  • Department/team assignment

  • Transaction history

When to use:

✅ Financial reconciliation

✅ Spending cycle reviews

✅ Budget reallocation decisions

✅ Manager spending oversight

✅ Year-end financial reporting

Example use case: Export all spending pots at quarter-end to review budget utilisation across departments, identify underspent pots for potential reallocation, and prepare financial summaries.

Step 4: Set Date Range

Choose the time period for the content you want to export.

How to set date range:

  1. Select start date

  2. Select end date

Step 5: Share Report (Optional)

Share your report with other Analysts in your organisation.

To share a report:

  1. Locate the Share section

  2. Select Analyst users you want to share with

  3. Shared users can view and download the report

When to share:

✅ Collaborative analysis projects

✅ Cross-functional reviews

✅ Judging panels (for nominations)

✅ Financial reviews (for rewards/spending)

✅ Regular stakeholder reporting

Who can access shared reports: Only users with Analyst permission.

Step 6: Save and Generate Report

  1. Review all your selections

  2. Click Save

  3. Your report begins processing

The report appears on the Reports page and will be available for download once processing completes.


Understanding Your Report Data

CSV file structure:

Each row represents one item (user, Moment, reward, etc.)

Each column represents a data field (name, date, content, amount, etc.)

Headers in first row identify what each column contains

Opening and viewing:

  • Use Microsoft Excel for advanced filtering and analysis

  • Use Google Sheets for cloud-based collaboration

  • Use CSV viewers for quick review

  • Import into databases for complex analysis


Common Content Export Scenarios

Scenario 1: Monthly Recognition Content Review

Goal: Review all Moments posted in October to analyse recognition quality and themes.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "Moment Content (October 2025)"

  • Content Type: Moments

  • Date Range: 1 October 2025 - 31 October 2025

Result: CSV file with every Moment's complete text, author, tags, values, and metadata from October.

Analysis: Read through Moments to identify common recognition themes, check alignment with company values, and spot outstanding examples for featuring.

Scenario 2: Quarterly Reward Budget Reconciliation

Goal: Calculate total reward spending in Q4 for financial reporting.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "Rewards Q4 2025

  • Content Type: Rewards

  • Date Range: 1 October 2025 - 31 December 2025

Result: CSV files containing all reward transactions with amounts, recipients, givers, and spending pots.

Analysis: Sum reward amounts by department, verify against budgets, and prepare financial summaries for leadership.

Scenario 3: Annual User Data Export

Goal: Extract all current user data for HR annual reporting.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "User Account Data (Annual Export 2025)"

  • Content Type: Users

  • Date Range: 1 December 2025 - 31 December 2025 (date range less critical for users)

Result: CSV file with complete user information including names, emails, departments, titles, and status.

Analysis: Verify employee data accuracy, update HR systems, create organisational charts, and prepare demographic reports.

Scenario 4: Nomination Judging Export

Goal: Export all nominations for "Innovation Award" to enable offline judging.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "Innovation Award Nominations (November 2025)"

  • Content Type: Nominations

  • Date Range: 1 November 2025 - 30 November 2025

Result: CSV file with all nomination submissions including nominator, nominee, full text of nomination, and associated values.

Analysis: Share with judging panel, review submissions systematically, score against criteria, and select winners.

Scenario 5: Ideas Campaign Evaluation

Goal: Review all ideas submitted during 6-week innovation campaign.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "Innovation Campaign Ideas (Sept-Oct 2025)"

  • Content Type: Ideas

  • Date Range: 15 September 2025 - 31 October 2025

Result: CSV file with all idea submissions including titles, descriptions, submitters, dates, and status.

Analysis: Categorise ideas by theme, identify top suggestions, calculate submission rates, and prepare implementation plan.

Scenario 6: Year-End Store Activity Review

Goal: Analyse redemption patterns to plan next year's store inventory.

Configuration:

  • Report Type: Content Export

  • Report Name: "Store Redemptions (January-December 2024)"

  • Content Type: Redemptions

  • Date Range: 1 January 2024 - 31 December 2024

Result: CSV file with all redemptions including items, dates, users, and points spent.

Analysis: Identify most popular items, calculate redemption rates, spot seasonal trends, and plan reward funding for next year.
